201.7 Importing from Text CSV File

NoteDex has a text import function that allows you to rapidly create cards en-mass from a text file (CSV - Comma Separated File).

The format is:

Title, Front Text, Back Text, Group, Tag

The file needs to be formatted in Excel in a certain way.  Check out this video to learn how.

You can also enter in data for cards quickly using the same interface - you can add text for the title, front text, back text, tag and group as desired

Check out this video to learn more how to import text for making flashcards and index cards quickly.

The import feature is great if you want to import text to create flashcards from other apps, like anki, quizlet etc.  Make sure to export the front and back text of each card and then import that into NoteDex.

The csv text import function is in the top app menu dropdown when you are in a Stack. Open a Stack where you want the imported cards to be, and then in this view (where you see your other card thumbnail preview images) go to the three dots menu at the top of the app on the top toolbar.  When you click on this you will see the grid symbol for importing text.   You can learn more by going to the Advanced topics page in our support portal 201.7 Importing from Text CSV File (notedex.app)
