Sometimes if you click to create a card before the initial sync finishes you get a pop up message that says 'Please wait'. If this is still happening please just go back to the home screen and reload/refresh the app - either click the sync icon or reload the browser or app.
Wait for the app to finish syncing (check the progress message in the top right of the app). Then go back into the Workspace and Stack you need to edit.
